The Chicago Urban League Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation provides entrepreneurs of color the chance to start, expand and grow their businesses. INCubatoredu provides students with an experience that is authentically entrepreneurial while they develop their own business startup. The students will be taught how to develop their concepts as they progress throughout the curriculum. This involves conducting market research, customer and idea explorations, prototype building, and pitches. The process encourages the ability to communicate and solve problems and teaches students how to quickly adjust to changing conditions.
Each year, each team participates in INCubatoredu National Pitch to compete in the search for funding to start the start-up companies they have created. This event provides teams with an opportunity to network with investors as well as helpful advice from top business executives - an event known for its shark tank-style pitch sessions.
