The Chicago Urban League Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation offers entrepreneurs from underrepresented groups with the opportunity to start, expand and sustain businesses. Diversity certificates for suppliers and bids to bid on private or public contracts could be obtained through mentoring for business, networking events and financial tools and access to financial aid. Sunshine Enterprises aims to help businesses with the highest potential with limited resources to grow their businesses, and to transform their communities. Incubatoredu
INCubatoredu gives students the opportunity to experience entrepreneurship in a real way as they create their own startup company. Students will be supported by a mentor and coach in each class, who help with their ideas, including removable foot pads that can be cleaned and social applications.
Students are taught to enhance their ideas as they progress throughout the curriculum. It includes market studies, research on customers and ideas explorations, prototype building, and pitching. This helps to develop cooperation, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities, and also teaches students how quickly they can adapt to changes.
Each team competes to win funding at the INCubatoredu National Pitch, which occurs every year. It is referred to as a"shark-tank"-style competition and offers valuable chances for teams to connect with investors.
